What we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to have it removed. Written to be read rather than to be survived.

Template — needs legal review. This document is a well-structured starting point written for an Indian education business, not legal advice. Have a qualified professional review and adapt it before launch, then remove this notice.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and to deliver a program you have enrolled in. There is no data broker relationship, and we do not buy contact lists.

  • Contact details you submit through the consultation or contact forms — name, email, phone number.
  • Background information you choose to share, such as your current role and target role.
  • For enrolled students: attendance, submitted work and reviewer feedback.
  • Analytics data about how the website is used, in aggregate and with IP addresses anonymised.

Why we collect it

Each category has a single, stated purpose. We do not repurpose data for something you did not expect when you gave it to us.

  • To reply to your enquiry and schedule a consultation.
  • To recommend a suitable program and share fees and cohort dates.
  • To deliver teaching, review your work and issue completion certificates.
  • To understand which pages and resources are useful, so we can improve them.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled to understand aggregate site usage. It is disabled entirely unless an analytics measurement ID is configured, and it is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels or third-party trackers beyond the analytics described here.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

We share the minimum necessary with service providers who help us operate: the learning platform that hosts your course, the payment processor that handles enrolment fees, and the email service that delivers our replies. Each is bound to use the data only for that purpose.

How long we keep it

Enquiry data from people who do not enrol is deleted after twelve months. Student records are retained for the period required to evidence completion and to handle any subsequent verification request, and then deleted.

You can ask us to delete your data sooner and we will do so, except where we are legally required to retain a financial record.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will respond within thirty days.

Send any of these requests to connectbluelayersacademy@gmail.com and put "data request" in the subject line.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS with a strict content security policy and standard security headers. Access to student records is restricted to staff who need it for teaching or support.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever become aware of a breach affecting your data, we will tell you what happened, what was affected and what we are doing about it — without waiting until we have a comfortable version of the story.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top and, for anything that affects existing students, notify you by email rather than relying on you to re-read the page.
